The Goat Canyon Trestle was built around 1930 to bypass a collapsed tunnel, it is part of what is referred to as The Impossible Railroad, due to the harsh terrain. This was the payoff for the arduous hike in.

This is an elevation plot of the hike. There is a lot of Boulder hopping on this hike. The middle dip is goat canyon it is almost 2/3 of it is extremely hard boulder hopping. Also bear in mine this is out in the middle of no where land with a very confusing terrain of rocks, very easy to get disoriented.
Here at The very beginning of the hike, one will find a water trough. Stamp with RDMS MCCain a notable family in the history of the area. The trough was fed by a pipe that extended up the canyon to a water source.
There is a beautiful Grove of palm trees
These are shots of the trestles that allow the railroad track to make its way through the canyon. really allows one to know why it's called The Impossible Railroad. These two photos actually match together just look at the debris field.
