Round Mountain
With TheJacumba Hikers
Jacumba, Ca.
Round Mountain in Jacumba, is an extinct Early Miocene Volcano, it can just south of Hwy 8 near the Jacumba Turn off. In the vicinity as one drives by it can be noticed ash layers and the bright colors from the Volcanic past. Nearby Jacumba Hot Springs is another hint of a volcanic past. The photo below shows Round Mountain from The Jacumba Turnoff, the southern side is the more gradual slope up.
