Rock House, Rockhouse Valley
Anza Borrego
A long hike in, brings one to this Stone Cabin a Water Tank near the cabin has a date of 1942 most likely the cabin was built around the same time. The structure was probably a line canyon to support cattle, The walls are built of local stone and concrete supporting wood looks to have been found not to far off. The Box Canyon would have been a perfect area to rest a herd and let them rest and feed.
The Hike in is through arid terrain and water should be carried in good supply. The heat can quickly get the best of you out here.
