Sunny Jim Cave
The Cave Store in La Jolla is not your ordinary curio shop, for a nominal fee, last time it was 5 dollars, you can access a Sea Cave.
Sunny Jim Sea cave is visited by climbing down a 145 steps via long and sometimes low tunnels, some steps may be slippery. Built by Gustauf Schultz who hired 2 workers who took a year to build the tunnel, starting in 1902.
Originally the tunnel was accessed by being lowered down the Tunnels by rope, now you can climb down wooden steps, though hold on to the railing as the lower you go the more damp the stairs.
